The Art of Reading Book Club

Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) presents The Art of Reading Book Club.

The Art of Reading Book Club
The saying goes “A picture is worth a thousand words" so let’s explore that! Come spend a cozy and casual evening discussing an eclectic mix of books with art related storylines, explore the images they showcase and the times they reflect. Pre read the book or just join for the experience of connecting with fellow art lovers. Free and open to everyone. Advance registration is required for each individual date. Until we can visit art in person again, we can do this. With Margaret Reardon.

Dates: Meetings will be held the Last Wednesday of each month.
Time: 7:00 - 8:30pm

Books by week:
February 24: The Last Painting of Sara Devos by Dominic Smith
March 24: Master Thieves: The Boston Gangsters Who Pulled Off the World’s Greatest Art Heist by Stephen A Kurkjian
April 28: The Masterpiece by Fiona Davis
May 26:The City of Falling Angels by John Berendt

June 30: Fierce Poise: Helen Frankenthaler and 1950's New York by Alexander Nemerov
July 28: Cooking for Picasso by Camille Aubrey
August 25: The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

Margaret Reardon, a resident of Shaker Heights, has over twenty years of experience presenting literacy programs and leading book clubs. Books and art have been lifelong interests. Furthering the missions of nonprofits who support these interests is a passion as well, and she is excited to have these all come together in support of the wonderful work of SHAC.
