Colorfield

Mark Reigelman, 2014
Picture
“Colorfield” was commissioned by the Ludlow Community Association to  celebrate and honor the historic Ludlow Community. With installations in both Shaker Heights and Cleveland sites, the sculpture symbolizes this unique neighborhood that spans two cities.  Constructed of painted metal pythons, the colors change as you move around the sculpture – a tribute to the diverse residents of this strong and civically active neighborhood.

Mark Reigelman is a Brooklyn, New York based artist who specializes in product design, installations, and public art.  Reigelman is a 2006 graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art where he majored in Sculpture and Industrial Design. He has created numerous public art works throughout greater Cleveland. Reigelman's “The Reading Nest” is installed outside the downtown Cleveland Public Library. The artist obtained 10,000 reclaimed boards from various Cleveland industrial and manufacturing sites and worked with a team of people over 10 days to construct the “Nest."  Another work by Reigelman, "White Cloud" at the Cleveland Museum of Art earned recent acclaim when America for the Arts named it one of the top pubic art projects in the United States.  To find out more about Reigelman click here
