This utility box deign was commissioned as a part of Painting the Town utility box design competition. This utility box design was inspired by and in memory of the artist's mother.
Lawrence holds a Masters in Art Education (P–12) from Ursuline College and a Bachelor of Fine Art in Illustration from Columbus College of Art and Design. For the past ten years she has taught Visual Art (K–8) at St. Rita School in Solon. A Shaker Heights resident for twenty-seven years, she started as a freelance Graphic Designer working with various City of Shaker departments to design print collateral. Clientele include Shaker Heights School District, Home Builders Association, Shaker Arts Council , Shaker Magazine, Thornton Park Recreation Center, City of Shaker Heights Housing, and Shaker Family Center. Additional freelance work includes illustrating two children's books: “A Special Day For Lucas” and “The Doggonest Vacation,” as well as designing greeting card lines, rubber stamps, mugs and clothing. Employed as a Graphic Designer with Shaker Heights Library, Lawrence's designs received three Best of Show and one Honorable Mention awards from the Professional American Library Association 2007 & 2008.
