Meet Rita Montlack
Artist, photographer

Rita Montlack creates her artwork by taking photographs and then transforming them on the computer oftentimes superimposing a layer of geometric painting changing from black and white to color. Her most recent one-person show, “The Incredible Brightness of Seeing,” was at the 1Point 618 Gallery, located in Cleveland’s Gordon Square Art District.  Much of her work is based on urban landscapes in cities as varied as Cleveland, Miami, New York , Cappadocia, Paris and New Orleans.

Rita’s photographs are included in the collections of many prominent institutions, including those of Progressive Corporation, the Cleveland Clinic, Intercontinental Hotel, University Hospitals , Cleveland State University, and Cuyahoga Community College Hospitality and Management Center.  Her studio is located in the Art Craft Building, 2570 Superior Avenue.
